As of June 2023, an estimated 4.5% of the startups that have gone through Y Combinator since 2010 have become billion-dollar companies (according to Pitchbook).

According to YC, Every 3 months over 10,000 companies apply to participate in their accelerator and they typically have a 1% acceptance rate. There’s a massive appetite for YC and an acceptance rate that would make Ivy League schools jealous.

They now have more than 400 companies valued over $100M and more than 90 companies valued over $1B. While each of these data sets tell a slightly different story…. either way, these are staggering & impressive numbers. This type of success creates a flywheel where future ambitious founders apply to join YC and create the next set of break out companies. We’ll continue to keep an eye on the companies coming out of YC and share more relevant jobs with you in the future.
