Job Search Tip:
In the current job market, companies are looking for candidates to check as many boxes as possible. Like it or not, it is the reality of current times.
Find ways to help the company “de-risk” the hire by hiring you. Prepare stories that help you showcase:
What problems that they are facing that you’ve already solved
What you truly owned or built out in order to make that happen
What was the quantifiable impact of your work on the team & business
Ask questions. Ask questions. Ask questions. You’ll uncover challenges that they are facing so you can share multiple examples of this throughout the interview process. Have different stories ready for each one so you aren’t telling the same story over and over.
This is very similar to the STAR Method. But it can help you go a layer deeper then the interview question and stand out from the competition.
