Figure out which companies your dream company is recruiting from and position yourself to break into one of those companies.
Here's a quick way you can do this on LinkedIn:
▪️ Go to their company page on LinkedIn
▪️ Click on the 'People' tab (this shows all current employees)
▪️ Search for the job function or department you want, ie Product Marketing, Growth Marketing, or just "Marketing" in general
▪️ Open the employee profiles one by one, and scroll down to their previous work experience
▪️ Track what companies and industries they are coming from; are the same companies showing up multiple times, do they always pull from companies from the same domain, targeting similar personas, at a similar stage of funding… or do you notice any other trends?
▪️ These companies can be talent pipelines to your dream company and maybe one of them are looking for someone with your background. Apply and Network your way into those and you'll be better set up for your next move
